ABOUT
ME

I'm Nihal, an electronics engineering graduate based in Hatfield. Right now I work as an HVAC Designer at SRPM Consulting, where most of my days involve turning a client's brief into something that actually gets built — drawings, calculations, site visits, conversations with architects and structural engineers, the whole thing.

I genuinely enjoy the problem-solving side of it. There's something satisfying about working through a tricky design constraint or explaining a technical decision to a client in a way that actually makes sense to them. That mix of technical work and people work is what I find most interesting about consulting.

Before this I studied electronics at the University of Hertfordshire, where my MSc thesis looked at using machine learning to improve vehicle-to-vehicle networks. It was a pretty different world from building services but the same instinct — find a problem, understand it properly, build something that fixes it.

Designed and implemented a cross-VPC networking solution establishing a secure private communication channel between two isolated VPCs via VPC Peering. Covered end-to-end deployment: CIDR block planning, route table manipulation, security group hardening, and troubleshooting of ICMP ingress and public IPv4 addressing.
